The Senior Living Medical Director ensures that clinical programs operate in compliance with all applicable regulations. Plans and directs all aspects of clinical care at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility. Being a Senior Living Medical Director advises non-medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Provides patient consultations as needed and manages relationships between staff and attending physicians. In addition, Senior Living Medical Director requires a MD from an accredited school. Requires a state license to practice medicine. Typically reports to top management. The Senior Living Medical Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Working as a Senior Living Medical Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
