Materials Planning Supervisor supervises a team of material planners to ensure raw material requirements are accurately and timely determined so an organization can run efficiently. Ensures raw materials are available to meet designated production schedules. Being a Materials Planning Supervisor utilizes MRP system to coordinate material planning from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production. Reviews documented material needs and ensures that all codes, brands, and contact information necessary to process an order is accurate and confirms order sheets. Additionally, Materials Planning Supervisor understands technical documents and works closely with members of the engineering team to complete plans. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials Planning Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Materials Planning Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
