Job Description

Mechanic Technician I maintains and services mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Performs skilled repair services of mechanical, electrical, and building systems and equipment. Being a Mechanic Technician I conducts periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair. Identifies parts needed for replacement and places orders as necessary. Additionally, Mechanic Technician I completes all work in accordance with established safety procedures. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanic Technician I possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
