Job Description

Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist sets up and operates heart/lung machines to take on the functions of patient's organs while in surgery. Operates equipment to produce bypass, coronary perfusion, recirculation or partial bypass, or to alter blood temperature, balance, or content. Being a Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist may require an associate degree or its equivalent. In addition, a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credential is required. Additionally, Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist typically reports to a manager. Cardio-Pulmonary Perfusionist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.
