Job Description for Resident Physician

Resident Physician assesses, plans, and provides patient care under the supervision of attending physicians. Works closely with attending physicians to gain medical knowledge and experience with patients and procedures until all education requirements for the medical specialty have been completed. Being a Resident Physician examines patients, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data. Orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Additionally, Resident Physician responsibilities commensurate with level of training. Requires a MD. Typically reports to a physician.
