Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor II oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor II completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor II may assist engineers in development work. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor II supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes.
