What does an E-Commerce Product Copywriter do at companies like 24G?

24G Marketing Services, part of the 24G Agency based outside of Detroit, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Product Copywriter to help support our growing E-Commerce Product Team. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in creative writing and marketing along with the ability to consistently deliver creative, engaging, and highly relevant content. This position will play a crucial role in helping set our clients up for success throughout the customer journey.

What We Do
The Product Team is responsible for supporting the broader Marketing Services group by accomplishing the following goals for the brands that we work with:

  • Increase Visibility: Improve organic product search ranking through strategic use of popular and effective keywords. Work with our own rank data, the Advertising team, and Account Managers to help determine priority targets.
  • Encourage Engagement: Develop compelling and informational detail page components that promote customer engagement with individual products and with the brand as a whole.
  • Deter Buyer’s Remorse: Ensure customers have all of the information they need to make a sound and ultimately positive purchase decision. Make sure essential information expected for the category is readily available and common issues are addressed before the purchase decision is made.
  • Build Trust: Help illustrate the unique brand story of each client, building trust for newly discovered products and encouraging repeat purchase behavior.

What You’ll Do (Hands-On Training Provided)

  • Product Detail Page Copywriting: Produce informative and engaging copy for e-commerce listing elements such as product titles, bullet points, descriptions, and branded content.
  • Competitor Research: Research product categories, and the top competing products within them, to determine what is already being done well that we can replicate and what opportunities exist for our own listings to stand out in the crowd.
  • Year-Long Strategy: Work with Account Managers and clients to determine high-value opportunities for seasonal, promotional, branded, or other copy change opportunities throughout the year.
  • Cross-Team Strategy: Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine how best to support other marketing efforts such as advertising, social media, external websites, etc.

Job Requirements
These are the things that a prospective candidate must have to be considered for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Creative Writing, Advertising, Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • Direct experience creating content for products, brands, or advertisers on an e- commerce marketplace (Amazon, Walmart, DTC Website, etc.)
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a related role
  • Superior attention to detail. Everything we do influences the public perception of the brands that we work with, your work will need to be exceptionally error-free
  • Ability to work within the unique challenges of an agency setting (meeting challenging client requests or timelines, handling requests for multiple clients in widely varying categories, prioritizing between many projects of competing importance)
