What does a BCBA Center Manager do at companies like ABA2DAY BEHAVIOR SERVICES?

ABA2Day is currently seeking a full-time Center Manager to join our team!

Job Summary:  

This position provides the leadership and day-to-day oversight of the Center operations. Initially, the Center Manager will be expected to help grow a new center by providing supervision and intervention to their own caseload as well as coordinate with regional clinicians who have clients appropriate for center-based intervention. Caseload expectations will be reduced as the center grows. The Center Manager will be expected to coordinate with all professionals within the center to ensure the highest quality of care for our clients.

 

This position requires flexibility and a “can do” attitude especially in the beginning, when starting a new center. The Center Manager will be expected to pro-actively interact with various departments at INVO corporate as well as “be the face” of the center when communicating with the public. The Center Manager is expected to facilitate positive interactions among families, center staff, and other INVO management. 

Quantitative Expectations (Metrics include but are not limited to the following):

  • Report on hours of service delivered in center compared to weekly and monthly targets

  • Report on speed to service: center-wide metrics compared to company targets 

  • Report on Direct hours billed by center based clinicians (BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, PTs as applicable) compared to weekly and monthly targets

  • Responsible in leading/managing meetings to encourage a collaborative clinical environment

    • lead monthly center “region” meetings for information distribution to BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, and PTs as appropriate clinical items

    • participate in 1:1 conversations with supervised clinicians to problem solve goal/solution based strategies and assist staff in furthering their own professional development

    • facilitate (with the help of clinical lead staff) all-staff monthly meetings in an effort to disperse center information in a concise/timely manner

    • conduct regular audit days with the center team to insure proper documentation of services

 

Time Distribution: 

Administrative/Managerial 50% (will grow with center)

Direct Client Service/Supervision 50% (will decrease as center grows)

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Ensures day to day operation of center based services, including but not limited to schedule coordination, safety of participants, program development, group programs and program implementation.

  2. Maintain/develop relationships with in-home service regions, intake, client services and other involved departments for purposes of staffing and providing clients with an appropriate therapy environment and social opportunities. 

  3. Lead performance management conversations for supervised center staff (with assistance from Human Resources team)

  4. Report directly (at least monthly) to the supervisor regarding goals of the center/staff as well as any performance barriers that may occur.

 

 Duties/ principle accountabilities:

 

  1. Manage overall clinical processes and operations in keeping with budget expectations - including but not limited to scheduling facility appointments, interacting directly with the landlord for building needs, coordinating with outside agencies for items such as security, grounds maintenance, and other essential functions

  2. Manage day to day operations of the Center, including supervision and evaluation clinical admin/scheduler and clinicians in order to assure an effective outcome for the child and efficient outcome for the organization.

  3. Schedule “first clinical contact calls” with potential families -- introduce families interested in services to our model as well as coordinate facility tours as appropriate.

  4. Coordinate the intake/assessment/initial care plan development process and ultimate “onboarding” of the Center Based Client.  This may involve collaboration with existing in-home BCBA, Intake Coordinators and Client Services as well as identification and matching and selection of the best suited Center Based BCBA. 

  5. Collaborate with the team, both internal and external to the Center, to ensure evidence based outcomes meet standards identified.   

  6. Promote quality and safe service delivery by assuring compliance with center policies 

  7. Attract, retain and engage employees by creating a positive and fun work atmosphere which fosters camaraderie, dedication to the INVO mission, productivity and expresses value for the staff’s contributions.

  8. Provide guidance and direction to clinicians - provide support as needed, ensure the staff capabilities adequately match the needs of the client. 

  9. Responsible for special projects and initiatives to enhance service delivery, which may include but not be limited to awareness opportunities, networking responsibilities, recruiting, newsletters, technology pilots, or development of client materials. (will not be the main focus of the role, but may occur occasionally)

 

Experience in the following areas desired:

 

  1. Minimum of four to ten years of experience working with children or young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders

  2. Organizational and management experience interacting with multiple care team members and families

  3. Experience with client/student and family management through team meetings in an agency or school setting

  4. Experience with technology and implementation of scheduling tools, willingness to learn

  5. Coordination of care with multiple disciplines including Special Education Professionals, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Pediatricians, and Neurologists
