Specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Review and update standard planning through analysis of engineering, restructuring of planning and elimination of waste from the manufacturing process.
  • Help drive ergonomic improvements in the line to help facilitate injury reduction and process optimization.
  • Review standard tooling and generate product engineering change requests to better facilitate product realization.
  • Interns will be employed full-time for the summer.
  • At the end of the program Interns will be expected to make a presentation to senior management, detailing highlights of their experience and accomplishments.
  • Interns will be assigned to first shift, which is from 6:30AM to 3:00PM.
  • Occasional overtime assignments may be required, including weekends.

Education / Certifications: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.

Experience/Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of PC/Software
  • Interested in pursuing future employment with Collins Aerospace.
  • Should have leadership skills and ability as demonstrated by involvement in extracurricular activities, paid/volunteer work, etc.
  • Have excellent writing skills.
  • Have clearly defined career goals that complement the goals of a manufacturing company.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
