Who you are

A motivated and enthusiastic self-starter eager to support the Shipping & Transload Team by maintaining various warehouse and shipping processes. You enjoy working in a team-oriented environment and always make safety a priority. You have:

• Strong computer skills and are comfortable using MS Office Suite products to include Word, Excel and Outlook
• Previous experience with MRP/ERP software systems
• Basic knowledge of inventory management
• 1-3 years of previous experience as a lead
• Previous experience with steel material handling (stacking trailers)
• Intermediate typing skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to anticipate possible problems and develop contingency plans in advance
• Initiative to take responsibility for your work and get things done
• Organizational skills as well as filing / sorting skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with solid written and verbal communication
• Safety awareness
• Understanding of diversity
• Well developed skills in prioritization with the ability to multi-task
• Effective stress management / composure
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Fluency in English
• Bilingual - Spanish (this is a plus!)

Physical Demands
• Regularly walk and stand for long periods of time
• Strong manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
• Ability to work both inside and outside with exposure to heat, cold and loud noises
• Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)

What we are looking for
A full-time Shipping & Transload Material Handler / Operator for the Day Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) Monday – Friday (and some Saturdays). You will be based out of our Transloading Facility in Woodland, CA with on-boarding and training out of our steel fabrication shop in Hayward, CA. This position is under the Fabrication Department and is responsible for, traceability, transloading, sorting, inventorying, management and shipping of all fabricated steel components, as well as support shop operations as needed.

What you will be doing
As a Shipping & Transload Material Handler / Operator at ConXtech, you’ll:
• Verify all shipments are in accordance with ConXtech’s safety standards and requirements
• Ensure adherence to all shipping procedures
• Maintain traceability, tracking, scanning and shipment processing in our MRP system
• Lead your team and inspire a culture of teamwork and efficiency
• Check-in outbound inventory and administer the processing
• Verify packing slips prior to loading and report any discrepancies to the Shipping Supervisor
• Maintain outbound traceability and tracking of all material to the end user
• Maintain integrity of transloading yard in organized systematic fashion
• Schedule daily shipments
• Coordinate transportation requirements with vendors in accordance with the shipping schedule
• Communicate daily tasks with team members both in Hayward and transloading location in Woodland
• Control inbound and outbound flow of material in shipping area
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure on-time receipt of materials
• Inform Shipping Supervisor of any load discrepancies
• Ensure team members are properly tasked and maintain productivity
• Enforce safety standards and report mishaps to Shipping Supervisor
• Enforce ConXtech standards of conduct and report violations to Shipping Supervisor
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy machinery, equipment and material
• Perform material handling and storage
• Load and unload trucks, haul and hoist materials
• Assist management in recycling material in the warehouse
• Maintain a clean job site by picking up all tools and equipment and securing job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
• Safely utilize forklifts, Combis and power jacks to move warehouse materials according to proper safety instructions and as directed
• Assist in other job roles and functions to alleviate workloads in other departments
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
• Problem solve with team members and initiate quick resolution
