Description

The Donation Processing Clerk (DPC) is a full time, non-exempt position of Denver Rescue Mission (“DRM”) that must hold to the doctrine and Constitution/By-Laws of DRM, and must be willing to sign the Denver Rescue Mission Statement of Faith, and Ministry Principles with Appendix. 


Position Summary

The DPC reports directly to the Donation Processing Supervisor (DPS).  

Requirements

  • Opening and analyzing incoming mail donations while adhering to DRM internal control policies including dual custody of cash.
  • Scanning reply devices and checks.
  • Utilize software to verify the scanned documents by checking names, addresses and donation amounts.
  • Review online gift data and post transaction to the Raiser’s Edge correctly
  • Setting up new donor accounts into the database, as needed.
  • Generating receipts using a mail merge function.
  • Administering the folding/inserter machine.
  • Administering the postage meter.
  • Receive donations via phone.
  • Provide front desk coverage one day per week and as needed for vacation & sick time.
  • Assist in training the seasonal staff/volunteers.
  • Process credit card donations.
  • Assisting the DP Supervisor with other projects in the Data Processing Department, as needed.


Qualifications

  • Ability to type 40 wpm with high accuracy.
  • Good understanding of donation tax implications, different types of donations, and how they impact on books and donation records.
  • Working knowledge and previous experience working in a sophisticated data entry system with accuracy and proficiency.
  • Ability to work in an open-area environment while paying close attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess strong Christian values with the conviction to sign the Denver Rescue Mission Statement of Faith.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suites. 
  • Ability to work well in the collaborative environment.
  • Basic excel skill is a must. 
  • Subject to background check and credit report.
