Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Accountable for the overall performance of departments indicated and is ultimately responsible for their performance
  • These departments include: Social Services, Recreational and Occupational Therapy
  • Ensures the coordination between departmental functions within the scope of oversight as well as general coordination of functions with external departments (e.g. business office, nursing,etc)
  • Prioritize and delegate duties effectively while managing and fostering resources in order to meet customer needs while providing responsible stewardship to the institution in the fulfillment of its mission
  • Ensures that each department runs efficiently (e.g. on budget) and effectively (e.g. meets goals), or takes corrective action within the confines of available resources

What qualifications you will need:

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling or psychology from an accredited university.
  • Current Missouri licensure in social work (LCSW) or counseling (LPC) with previous
  • Clinical management experience
  • Five years’ experience in behavioral health
  • Experience in clinical management and an inpatient setting required
  • Experience in management of acute care and outpatient psychiatric services preferred
  • Knowledge of clinical programming & social services, utilization management, performance improvement & essential legal issues related to EMTALA and other aspects of healthcare
  • Knowledge of hospital financial issues, managed care trends and budgeting Marketing and business development processes

    is a 585 bed hospital. Our hospital offers an array of medical and health clinic services. This includes womens services offering obstetrics and fertility, an emergency room, and a trauma center. We offer a Stroke Center, a walk-in clinic, and orthopedics across three Kansas City locations. Our specialty care areas include a Chest Pain Center, Level I Trauma Center, Breast Care Center, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Programs, and Primary Stroke Center.     Research Psychiatric Center is a 95 bed facility. We offer acute inpatient, day treatment, and community-based outpatient behavioral healthcare. We treat adolescents, adults, and senior adults for emotional disorders, mental illness, and substance abuse.
