Description

Job Purpose: Operate and maintain a sanitary and clean dishwashing room, machine, and related equipment in order to produce sterilized dishes, cooking containers, utensils, related restaurant, and food service items.

Essential Functions:

• Load, run, and unload dishwashing machine.
• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional and mechanical problems immediately.
• Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays and store all tableware and kitchenware.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Washes and peels vegetables as needed.
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
• Bad and haul kitchen trash and garbage and places it in designed containers
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
• Performs other duties and projects as required by management.

Working Conditions:

• Typical of that in a busy casino with heavy cigarette smoke accompanied with a variety of competing noises and communications.
• Flexible hours (week-ends, nights, holidays).

Qualifications

Physical requirements:

• Walking or standing for long periods of time; Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling.
• Be able to safely lift dish racks and stacks of dishes weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Be able to work in hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods of time.
• Frequently lifting (up to 40 lbs).
• Occasional lifting (up to 75 lbs).
• Be physically able to reach, bend and stoop.

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration:

• Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 Hours).
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel.
• Knowledge of food, air borne and unsanitary cleaning cloth microbes, germs and bacteria.
• Knowledge of Public Heath prescribed hand-washing techniques.
• Knowledge of the duties of other positions similar in nature in order to fill in when necessary.
• Current Food Handlers License.
• Ability to work any shifts, start time, weekends, and holidays
• Documents that establish both Identity and Employment Eligibility.
• Kickapoo Tribal Gaming License.
