Moda Operandi is seeking a talented, hardworking and motivated Sample Assistant with meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and pride in their craft. Reporting to the Senior Sample Associate, the Sample Assistant will be responsible for the management, requesting and tracking of samples for e-commerce photography.  The successful candidate will join a growing, dedicated Studio team. While working as part of the wider studio, he/she will appreciate being part of the Studio Team and enjoy facilitating the sharing and learning of new skills from this group of talented individuals.

This is a full-time on-site position based at our Brooklyn studio. 

Moda abides by the NYC vaccination mandate for workplaces, as such only candidates with completed covid-19 vaccinations will be considered for this role.

 Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Work with a dedicated Sample Team to manage the day-to-day sample flow for Presell shoots
• Check in, track, and return all samples needed for Presell shoots
• Oversee handling of merchandise while in the studio's possession, ensuring that the correct sample is received and returned on time and in the same condition received.
• Maintain an organized system for storing samples securely and safely
• Coordinate with production and merchandising team to group like brands and certain themes between uploads to ensure a smooth photography and upload process
• Help coordinate seasonal editorials working closely with the styling and creative team.
• Pull Trunkshow imagery for styles already shot prior to Boutique purchase orders
• Troubleshoot by investigating color, sizing, and any arising discrepancies
• Build and foster productive cross functional relationships with internal teams and external partners
• Be a pro-active, creative thinker, able to show initiative and suggest ideas to constantly improve the workflow and quality of the Studio Team, as well as the wider business
• Engage customers by effectively delivering compelling and beautiful imagery that accurately depicts the products

   Qualifications

• 1 year on-set photo shoot experience in an e-commerce environment a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills 
• Must be able to multitask, prioritize, anticipate needs and take direction
• Ability to work collaboratively, listen, and value differing perspectives
• Must be self-motivated, flexible and agile
• Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment; welcoming challenges and adapting to change with ease, composure, and a positive attitude
• Familiar with Microsoft and Google applications; experience with Creative Force a plus
• Comprehensive understanding of the fashion and luxury goods industry
• Enthusiastic about Moda Operandi, e-commerce, and fashion overall
