We are currently looking for a Controller to join us in our mission to save lives and prevent injuries.

Position Highlights:

The Controller develops and executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, reporting, general ledger maintenance, and financial systems and controls.  They lead and support the day-to-day accounting operations by overseeing a team of accounting professionals.  With functional leadership spanning overall accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and expenditures.  Documents and assesses our current internal financial control system, identifying issues, provides and implements solutions for corrective action(s)
  • Directs the audits of the year-end financial statements and benefit plans
  • Direct/Ensure the processing of all accounts payable and receivable transactions, collections, billings and cash receipts
  • Maintain daily cash schedule and assist with cash flow budgeting/forecasting
  • Ensure preparation of bank account reconciliations and general ledger account analyses and reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end (and year-end) close
  • Ensure accurate management of all restricted funding (grants and philanthropy)
  • Direct preparation of work papers to support the completion of annual tax returns
  • Partner with Finance in delivering accurate and timely financial results, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in managing relationships with outside parties, including banking, investment, insurance, and other
  • Manage and develop a 10-member Accounting team
  • Other accounting/leadership projects

We’re Looking for Someone with: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 10 to 15 years of accounting and financial management
  • CPA certification required
  • Master’s degree with a concentration in accounting preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of generally accepted accounting principles including financial accounting, cost accounting, grant accounting, and specific regulations related to non-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge and application of financial and internal controls.
  • Understanding of information systems capabilities and operations as related to accounting and business function.
  • Strong ability to evaluate processes and systems, develop recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency, and implement changes as directed.
  • Ability to select, recruit, organize, train, direct, and develop professional personnel, and to coordinate the timely accomplishment of responsibilities.
  • Senior-level writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work at all levels and across all functions in an organization.
  • This is a remote position
  • Salary range: $130,000 to $150,000
