General Summary:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with internal partners to understand business questions and identify available data.

• Extract and transform data from existing data stores to create data assets and perform analyses at manager’s direction.

• Apply statistical, simulation and data mining methods to provide guidance in addressing business questions.

• Provide support for communication of results and development of implementation strategies.

• Provide significant programming support for implementation of processes and procedures on analytical projects.

• Understand application of current and emerging statistical methods and tools.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field is preferred
• Finance background preferred
• Core Data Science Capabilities: Basic Capabilities in the following skillsets preferred.

• Data Analysis & Process Automation Programming: Basic understanding of programming in jupyter notebooks and/ or statistical packages, process mapping and automation, and usage of APIs.
• Data Visualization: Basic familiarity with at least one data visualization tool and effective static data visualization
• Statistics & Statistical modeling: Solid understanding of probability. Basic understanding of statistical inference (hypothesis testing, p-values, confidence intervals, variance & bias). Basic understanding of regression (model fitting, linear algebra, significance testing)

• Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) skillsets preferred: Hands on SQL experience and ability to write queries including Create, Read, and Update techniques from scratch. Demonstrates ability to take on pre-written complex queries understand the logical steps.
