Description

Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School are seeking a Communications Intern for the Summer of 2021.  The Communications Intern will report directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications. This position offers between 20 – 30 hours per week, a minimum of 20 hours per week is required. Selected interns will typically serve May through August with start and stop dates contingent on the interns’ college schedule. The office hours for the summer run Monday – Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm. This position is only open to Villa Duchesne alumna and the internship program offers a professional recommendation upon the successful completion of the program.

 
WRITING
The pen is mightier than the sword. This is an opportunity to develop your interviewing and writing skills. Craft compelling stories for current and prospective families, alumni, and donors. Your articles will be featured on our school website and across social media.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY
A picture is worth a thousand words. Explore our amazing 60-acre wooded campus with professional recording equipment provided by us. You will quickly capture our summer camp experiences. Take photos and produce videos that can inspire people.

RESEARCH & PLANNING

Qualifications


This position requires an individual with a strong commitment to his/her professional and personal growth. Applicants should have college credit in marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field of study.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong writing skills, preferably journalistic style
  • Flexible schedule to attend events during the day and after hours
  • Completion of Protecting Gods Children program

Knowledge & Skills Preferred:

  • Desktop publishing, preferably InDesign
  • Graphic design, preferably Illustrator
  • Imaging software, preferably PhotoShop
  • Digital photography and videography
  • Social media experience
  • Creativity and confidence
