Performs preventative maintenance and routine repairs to systems and equipment. Being a Mechatronics Technician conducts periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage. Uses technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair equipment, engines, and compressors. Additionally, Mechatronics Technician orders parts needed for replacement and coordinates with service providers to complete maintenance tasks. Uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track and document activities. Follows established safety procedures and regulations for hazardous materials handling. May have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechatronics Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
