Job Description for Change Management Manager

Change Management Manager oversees and plans non-technical change management initiatives that enable desired organizational change with minimum disruption of business processes. Uses a framework approach to plan and manage non-technical change projects that address the organization's need to modify structure or procedures due to mergers, acquisitions, leadership changes, or other organizational disruptions. Being a Change Management Manager follows Organizational Change Management (OCM) methodologies to conduct assessments of the current state, analyze stakeholders, identify risks, and establish the goals and milestones of changes. Implements detailed project plans to manage each phase's timelines, tasks, resources, and dependencies. Additionally, Change Management Manager enables the change implementation phase by creating and delivering communications, training, and transition plans for managers and employees and deploying required resources or interim support. Administers post-implementation monitoring processes to measure the results of changes and make necessary course adjustments. Maintains a working knowledge of existing business processes to understand the impact of changes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Change Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Change Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.
