A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline.
AIS is looking for an HR professional to join us in a temporary capacity for an estimated 2 months.
Primary Function :
The Human Resources Generalist will provide administrative support to the HR department with a very active recruiting agenda and a wide variety of interesting assignments.
The ideal candidate will also provide support to the payroll department during the processing of a bi-weekly payroll.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Assist the HR Manager with onboarding of new employees
- Assist in the processing of work-related injuries claims, reporting claims, and maintaining related files
- Manage benefit enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Establish and maintain employee records in ADP
- Participate in administrative meetings and attending other meetings as needed
- Ensure corporate compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Participate in the preparation and processing of a biweekly ADP payroll
- Perform other duties as required.
Compensation : Candidates will be paid an hourly rate to be negotiated and total compensation will vary depending on candidates' depth of experience.
This is a temporary full-time position.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Associate degree in human resources or business administration
- 0 -2 years of relevant experience
- Microsoft Office suite, internet job posting experience, ADP payroll software experience.
- Knowledge of hiring procedures and various employment laws and practices
- Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to interact professionally with customers, and staff
- Provide strict confidentiality when handling employee and company information
- Detail oriented, highly accuracy with strong organizational and time management skills
- Possess a professional demeanor and be dependable
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree preferred.
