Ambulette Driver

HireArt is helping a leader in autonomous vehicle technology hire an Ambulette Driver to support volunteer testing for an accessible transportation study.

The ideal candidate is a safe and experienced ambulette driver with a passion for new technologies. You're highly organized, customer-oriented and attentive to detail.

As a an Ambulette Driver, you’ll:
  • Train with the company to get an in-depth knowledge of the test vehicle.
  • Train with a university research team to understand the research study and equipment.
  • Drive 10-25 total volunteers in wheelchairs for the research study. For each volunteer, you will perform the following:
  • Drive test vehicle to volunteer’s household (within 30 minutes of Washtenaw County).
  • Drive test vehicle from volunteer’s household to research location.
  • Drive the volunteer around the test location.
  • Return the volunteer to their household.
  • Return the vehicle to base, check its safety condition, and clean the interior and exterior as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years experience operating ambulette vehicles
  • 3 years of driving experience with a clean driving record
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable with driving research vehicles
  • Excellent customer service approach
Commitment: This is a part-time (5-25 hours per week), temporary position staffed via HireArt and based in Ann Arbor, MI. Shifts are available Monday-Friday and will be scheduled with the research staff.
