FUNCTION:
Under the direct supervision of the Protective Services Supervisor, the Protective Services Case Aide provides support to the Protective Services team. Performs work in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures of the Arc Beaver/ACHIEVA, the Beaver County Office on Aging, the Older Adult Protective Services Act, the Adult Protective Services Act and the Department of Aging.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the achievement of an individual’s personal outcomes.

Utilizes communication and interpersonal skills to obtain essential information from individuals, families, and professionals while taking reports of need (RON) and during casework.

Take RONs in a timely and thorough manner.

Once a RON is received, the RON is discussed and reviewed by the PS Supervisor to assign categorization and/or obtain further information.

Enter RONS, investigations and journal notes in SAMS.

Assist in sending under 60 RON referrals to Liberty Healthcare.

Assist with gathering supportive evidence on cases, such as financial information.

Complete necessary steps to close a person to Protective Service.

Educates and assists individuals and families to obtain available resources.

Provides telephone contact support to implement and/or ensure follow through with care plans.

Attends meetings in individual’s homes and facilities throughout Beaver County.

Consults with supervisor on at least a weekly basis to discuss casework and documents these consultations in case notes.

Attends and successfully completes mandatory Protective Service trainings and attends other trainings to enhance skills and increase knowledge.

Assists Protective Service staff with emergency relocations.

Deletes and shreds files in accordance with Protective Service regulations.

Participates in staff meetings.

Represents Protective Services, at events, such as Senior Fairs, when requested by the Protective Services Supervisor.

Helps prepare documents for trainings and outreach.

Runs report preparing deletion list for Protective Service Supervisor.

Maintains confidentiality at all times.

Remains available for emergency situations and the on-call schedule.

May be required to provide a cell phone for availability for work purposes. May be eligible for cell phone stipend.

Qualifications
The equivalent of an Associate’s degree in human services or related field and 1-2 years human services experience. Must meet Act 33 and 34 requirements. Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license and properly insured vehicle for daily use required.
