Training Specialist

Oakland based engineering consulting firm seeks a full-time training specialist for a hybrid role with a major transportation agency in downtown Oakland. Pay range is $50 - $75 per hour. Must have the following:

• Experience in capital construction projects for the rail & transit industry desired
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Knowledge of management programs such as DOORS
• Knowledge of computer based training
• Experience in development and roll out of training in large firms
• Experience in contracting and change control products

The Training Support Assistant will :

-Manage work items (procedural and technical), related to the development, and roll out of Training, on behalf of the Work Group Manager
-Manage and oversee the review of submittals:
-Coordinate input from key stakeholders and subject matter experts where necessary
-Ensure quality; technical accuracy; compliance with contract requirements, standards, and regulations
-Identify open points, gaps, and any issues that may trigger change iv. Consolidate feedback and coordinate updates to submittals with the Design Build Contractor

Anticipated deliverables that this role will support and manage are as follows:

• Training Program Plan, Instructor Resumes, Instructor Guides, Student Guides, Training Aids-Materials-Devices, Certification/Re-Certification Materials, Clas
• Schedules, Special Presentation Equipment and Workstations, Supplemental
• Course Materials, Pilot Classes, Student Training, Audio and Video Recordings,
• Work with the Contractor to ensure that Training related activities are sequenced in a logical manner within the project schedule.
• Coordinate meetings and workshops between the Design Build Contractor
• Provide advisory services to the WG6 Work Group Manager, BART CBTC

4. Capacity to understand technical documents

Maintenance Manuals, Instructor Guides, Student Guides, Training Course

Materials, and Training Plans.

5. Able to communicate and engage with Stakeholders on a regular basis to

ensure client needs are met and understood by the project.

6. Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

7. Strong presentation skills.

8. Able to identify and assess training needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.42 - $25.79 per hour
