Actuarial Consultant
Description
Full-time position at fast growing retirement benefits consulting firm. Role is primarily focused on leading and presenting defined benefit actuarial work, but ideal candidate will also have interest in broad range of retirement plan work, including investments, outsourced pension plan administration, other post-employment benefit programs, and defined contribution plans. The right candidate will bring an entrepreneurial spirit, strong consulting and communication skills, client presence, attention to detail, and project management skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading annual valuation work for defined benefit and other post employment benefit clients; responsible for valuation process, special projects, and presenting to clients
- Managing client accounts
- Travelling to client meetings (national)
- Communicating and implementing risk transfer strategies, including spin-offs, lump sums, annuity purchases, and plan terminations
- Assisting sales and marketing effort by participating in presentations to prospects and driving research and request-for-proposals process
Location: Ability to work out of our offices in Waltham MA, Highlands Ranch CO, or New York NY preferred. Remote candidates in continental US also considered.
Requirements
8 years of actuarial experience preferably with corporate retirement plan focus. Credentialed (Enrolled Actuary and ASA/FSA). Candidate must have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, demonstrate a desire to expand knowledge in all areas of retirement consulting, be self-motivated, and have a willingness to roll up one’s sleeves. Candidate will be working with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications along with a host of other in-house software. Programming and ProVal skills are a plus.

Salary : $120,000 - $180,000
