Job Summary
AirBorn Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Building Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating the design and production of electronic components from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct studies on customer proposals for connector systems and develop connector systems based on customer input, production specifications, test data, and standard engineering practices.
- Detail drawings and coordinate the building of prototype products and testing.
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to ensure the final design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Responsible for ensuring that designs and projects are complete on time and at a reasonable cost.
- Develop manufacturing processes to produce newly designed parts and design and detail tools for making components or for assembly.
- Resolve problems related to assigned projects by working with vendors, customers, shop personnel, and others as necessary.
Requirements
- Requires knowledge typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, vocational or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to seven years related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
