What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bill of Materials Analyst position at Airstream?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All associates of Airstream are required to know and adhere to the policies and procedures which pertain to his/her position.
- Create and maintain Part Master, Bill of Materials, and related data in the ERP system in accordance with the Engineering drawings to ensure the accuracy of all products and options.
- Support new model year projects by publishing the New Parts List, setting up the model data, and setting up valid options.
- Support current models by processing change requests and model year updates.
- Interpret Engineering drawings to determine the requirements for product options.
- Communicate with designers to ensure correct interpretation and accuracy of design documentation.
- Investigate identified implementation issues and processes feedback to update the bill of material files.
- Analyze engineering cost data as an input to Pricing. Maintain costed BOM extracts for comparison. Process monthly reports for Material Control review of part and cost changes.
- Perform Bill of Materials audits and resolve discrepancies as necessary.
- Understand departmental policies and procedures for assigning part numbers, deleting and adding items, changing quantities or other attributes, and revising drawings.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associate's degree in business or engineering technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of work experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Experience in Bill of Material creation and/or in a design engineering environment.
Competencies:
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings and documents.
- Strong understanding of Change Management and effectiveness.
- Understanding of MRP/ERP systems and Bill of Material generation.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and well organized, with strong attention to detail.
- Manage multiple tasks and work well within a team environment.
- Proficiency in the use of databases and Microsoft Office tools.
