The Opportunity: Functional Analyst

The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is seeking a full-time Functional Analyst for the Maintenance & Operations (M & O) Department. Located in the fast-growing Puget Sound region, AWWD is focused on the expansion, maintenance and replacement of its critical infrastructure. AWWD currently employs 148 employees and the Functional Analyst is responsible managing the applications/systems utilized by the Maintenance & Operations (M&O) Department for the District. Essential duties include managing the operation and routine use of applications/systems used by the M&O Department and serves as the in-house expert knowing the features and functions of the systems, as well as how the platforms can help the organization realize its goals. Assist with the management of asset data utilized by the M&O systems, including collecting new or missing asset data, verifying, or cleansing data, and facilitating asset data updates. Initiate and drive process and data improvement efforts within the M&O systems. Define and document business functions and process and implement recommendations with individuals and work teams to resolve data integrity gaps.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing resources to help others master the systems, such as end user operational manuals, procedures, job aids, trainings, and system demos that provide new and existing District personnel with a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Administer software. Update resources as needed for system changes, enhancements, or modifications. Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and maintenance crews to create and update work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, task lists, and system asset information. Develop reports on key metrics to promote efficient operations and maintenance of District assets and work group programs.
  • The position provides user support in troubleshooting both application and business process issues, navigability challenges, and any other obstacle related to the system, elevating issues as appropriate. Coordinate with vendors, IT staff, and end users to resolve complex issues.
  • Administer software upgrades, optimization activities, creation and management of system permissions and user accounts, and table administration, in coordination with the IT team when appropriate. Conduct testing of core processes and application integrations prior to the implementation of changes. Participate in periodic inventory counts, investigating discrepancies and reconciling previous year with current year inventory. Add/maintain inventory and stock rooms as needed. Research latest tools and technologies within CMMS systems and be familiar with new trends and innovations in the field.
  • The Functional Analyst must be committed to improving the workplace and providing strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and writing skills and functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint. This individual should feel comfortable with computers systems or online modules, and be able to successfully navigate and learn various software applications.

The pay range for this position is $73,392 - $98,352 annually, with a starting pay range of $73,392 - $84,960 dependent upon experience and qualifications.
