Parts Managers should have a basic mechanical understanding and the ability to identify by sight, and by name, the parts of an industry related piece of equipment. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:
- Oversee and perform all transactions related to aftermarket parts purchases, sales and stocking
- Responsible for all aspects of inventory control
- Responsible for overseeing multiple consignment inventories
- Supervise the parts department staff
- Monitor and maintain department profitability
- Ensure customer satisfaction
- Monitor and adjust inventory stocking levels
- Create, review and submit stock orders and quarterly returns
- Evaluate vendors and maintain vendor relationships
- Maintain department order and cleanliness
- Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience preferred
- Operator License
- Excellent communication skills
- Professionalism
- Ability to effectively manage others
- Computer skills preferred- Epicor/Silk Systems, Vendor web portals, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning Ability - Intermediate: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; Occasionally will climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Lift and/or Move Functions: Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 100 plus pounds
- Work Environment: Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
