The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

 

  • Prepares weekly summary reports on labor performance and presents to property leadership.
  • Oversees the scheduling process to ensure a smooth and successful operation of the departments while efficiently capitalizing on labor hours and improving margins.
  • Publishes weekly schedule of all salaried and hourly Team Members
  • Addresses any scheduling or labor concerns and develops strategies and solutions. 
  • Collects, develops, and analyzes data, historical trends, and volumes to ensure all staffing levels are properly met. 
  • Works with corporate and property leadership to analyze current and par staffing levels and makes recommendations of changes to headcounts.
  • Communicates, both formally and informally, to Team Members at all levels, to ensure scheduling practices are clearly understood and solicits feedback to improve processes.
  • Maintain files for the Engineering department.
  • Monitor critical dates and inform Engineering leadership team of upcoming deadlines.
  • Ability to make independent financial decisions regarding purchases (through Blanket Purchase Orders or Requisitions), and during the absence of upper management: purchases of daily operational items, purchases of items for emergency situations, and approvals in Purchasing Systems. Enter all invoices into the Engineering Checkbook.
  • Develop and implement department policies and procedures that would ensure the efficient operations of the department in terms of safety, use of tools and equipment, team member purchases, and scheduling of team members and team members’ tasks.
  • Responsible for the accurate record keeping for all Engineering team members personnel files. Maintain Work Histories for each team member.
  • Perform frequent supply inventories and requisition the minimum number of supplies required to keep the department running.
  • Track team member’s attendance in accordance with property guidelines.
  • Confirms time in Kronos daily for the engineering department.
  • Assist department during the hiring and interviewing process of potential employees.
  • Assist with the annual inventory audit.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends for use in forecasts and budgets.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining communication vehicles to distribute key operating metrics and analytical findings.
  • Assists in preparing the annual budget and monthly forecast.
  • Compares actual operating results to budget and prior year.
  • Assists in the development of presentations for budget meetings and operational reviews.
  • Assist in daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Proactively assists co-workers as needed.
  • Displays the ability to be a collaborator and interface with other departments to develop key relations to ensure maximum efficiency in completing job tasks.
  • Accurately prioritizes, organizes, and completes multiple tasks.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. 
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited four-year college or university; or zero to two years related experience.
  • Must have strong PC skills, knowledge of web-based programs, and be proficient using Microsoft Office products.
  • Must possess a high level of organizational skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and to work under the pressure of short time constraints.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain cordial and professional relationships with all levels of the business.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                     

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
