The Document Services group ensures editing work is performed efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of technical staff.
BakerRisk® is seeking a Proposal/Technical Writer & Editor to provide a wide range of administrative and document processing support for technical staff. Primary duties involve the writing and editing of proposals, report, and other project-related documents. Established knowledge of SharePoint document processing procedures to accomplish routine work. May need occasional supervisory guidance on more complex Word or SharePoint issues. May assist technical staff with special projects or non-routine editorial / administrative support on certain projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately applies company standards to publish documents according to defined content type (Reports, Letters, Proposal, etc.).
- Provides administrative/copy editing support for a variety of business documents.
- Proofreads, reviews and edits documents using Microsoft Word.
- Corrects any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors in original copy.
- Responsible for accurately processing files in SharePoint according to BakerRisk’s internal document management process.
- Has some knowledge and experience for assisting technical staff with:
- client delivery protocols (FTP sites, etc.)
- Word formatting or general SharePoint assistance
- Participates in orientation training for new technical hires (overview training on their first day)
- May be assigned responsibility for specific functional areas within department.
Education and Experience
- Requires some college instruction, preferably English degree/major (or related work experience in lieu of college course work)
- 3-5 years of high-level administrative support experience, including strong knowledge of business and/or technical documentation.
- Two years of proofreading and/or copy-editing experience with technical documentation.
- Strong editing, writing, and grammar skills.
- Types at least 65 wpm with accuracy.
- Must be proficient in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Detail-oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks on schedule and with high level of accuracy.
- Able to work successfully under tight deadlines and beyond normal business hours when required.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Must be proficient in SharePoint concepts used for internal document processing.
- Must be proficient in general Internet concepts and usage.
