Program Manager

Overview

Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities or those in need of neurological rehabilitation.

Position Summary:

Bancroft is looking for Program Manager who will provide oversight and management for our Residential Program for Adults including: daily operations, activities, staff of assigned program site within direct area of responsibility and environmental safety to ensure ongoing quality of care to the individuals served.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of senior management, the Direct Care Manager will support, monitor and supervise the Direct Care Professionals within their program. Designs, implements, monitors, and evaluates community support services that help people live as valued, contributing and self-determined members of their community. Manager must possess the physical, mental, and emotional capabilities to successfully supervise a diverse staff.

This position requires a high degree of problem-solving, flexibility, independent thinking, organization, prioritization of duties, excellent communication, and relationship-building skills. Leaders in this role must be able to work within a team to achieve a common goal – to provide opportunities to children and adults with diverse challenges to maximize their potential.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

An incumbent in this position who has graduated from an accredited college with a BA in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech/Language Pathology, Social Work, Recreation, Art, Dance, Music, Physical Education, Nutrition, Sociology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Psychology AND possesses at least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or brain injuries.

High School diploma or equivalent required with two-three years in the Human Services or related field.  Prior management experience and a strong desire to work with neurologically-challenged individuals.  BA in a related field plus one year of related experience preferred.

Brain Injury/BIS Day Treatment Program Managers are required to achieve certification from the American Academy for the Certification of Brain Injury Specialists  (AACBIS) within the first 18 months of employment, and maintain ongoing annual certification requirements.
