At BASF, we create chemistry through the power of connected minds. We are hiring a Field Technical Service Representativeto be based at our customer location in Vance, AL. This position supports the daily operation of BASF paint products in Automotive Assembly Plants by providing on-site technical and application knowledge.
The role responds to customer requirements, enforces product quality/performance specification, and supports new product/application development. The Field Technical Service Representative will provide on-site expertise of product performance including color management, defect identification, and corrective action if necessary. S/he will develop and support customer relationships. The role supports the efforts of a BASF sales/technical team and will be key in tracking an monitoring inventory in SAP to ensure smooth operations. The role has strong customer interaction and problem solving components as well.Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
- Your background in automotive coatings will enable you to manage and improve the paint shop process flow as you perform root cause analysis on observed defects, analyze the data and suggest corrective actions or changes.
- Utilizing your SAP knowledge and strong project management skills, you will manage inventory, product usage, paint trials and new product launches.
- Your proven experience with paint processes (including ancillary paint processes) and applications will allow you to support a shift and make decisions without supervision. High school diploma required, advanced degree a plus.
- You will develop key internal and external relationships as you communicate with all levels of the customer organization to assess customer requirements, collaborate effectively with your team, management, internal organization such as manufacturing and supply chain as you adapt to diverse cultures and manufacturing plants.
