Defense Medical Malpractice Legal Assistant

Job Title: Legal Assistant - Medical Malpractice Defense

Location: West Palm Beach, FL (100% in-office)

Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant experienced in Medical Malpractice Defense in West Palm Beach.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support to a senior partner, focusing on medical malpractice defense cases
• Prepare and manage legal documents, pleadings, and exhibits
• E-file documents with courts and coordinate with opposing counsel
• Schedule hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
• Manage calendars, set reminders, and ensure timely filing and service of documents
• Coordinate and prepare for Zoom meetings and other virtual proceedings
• Maintain accurate records, files, and databases
• Perform legal research and cite-checking as needed
• Collaborate with other legal assistants, paralegals, and attorneys as required

Requirements:

• 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, with a focus on medical malpractice Defense cases
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal software, and e-filing systems
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks effectively
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Familiarity with legal procedures, rules, and protocols
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
