BreakThrough Inc. was founded to serve struggling foster youth on January 1, 2006 by Christopher Patterson, a former foster youth that believes you can provide unique and specific services to each client to meet them as an individual, regardless of challenges.
The Vision of BreakThrough Inc. is to be able to work with all adolescents by mentoring safe, appropriate, ethically sound, life goals for each adolescent by integration through specialized programs at school and home to focus on each adolescent’s specific issue.
As a Program Manager with BreakThrough Inc., you would be responsible for maintaining of the home, training staff, writing individual behavior plans, overseeing treatment of youth, and communicating appropriate information with relevant parties. This is a position of great responsibility, challenges, growth opportunity, and social rewards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures in compliance with the requirement of state, local, and federal agencies.
- Assist in training, and managing personnel in the Program.
- Responsible for training Support Staff and Lead Staff who work within the house they manage regarding the client's history and background and supervision issues related to each client.
- Supervises the Support Staff and Lead Staff.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Individualized Behavior Management Plans (IBMP), Individualized Service and Treatment Plans (ISTP), and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) for each client in their care.
- Keep parents/guardians/social workers advised of the client's progress on a continuing basis and remain in contact with the Executive Director/Administration team as well.
- Function as the primary resource during emergency situations.
- Function as spokesperson for the program in the community.
- Other responsibilities as defined by Administration.
- Maintaining professional appearance/dress code at all times according to policies and Administration.
- Meet weekly with Clinical Director and Administration for changes in structure, supervision, and other acute needs of the clients and staff.
- Read and familiarize yourself with the Washington State Licensing.
- Understand the importance of accurate record keeping/reporting/personnel policies and posting of the license.
- Health and general safety.
- Facility/Program requirements and fire safety.
- Medical care and medication management.
- Proper staff to client supervision ratios and staff qualifications.
- Discipline and Physical de-escalation.
- Staff training, and records kept on site for specific program training.
REQUIREMENTS
An on-site Program Manager must have:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of similar, full-time experience working with vulnerable populations;
- An associate's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of similar, full-time experience working with vulnerable populations; or
- Three years of similar, full-time experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Supervisory abilities that promote effective staff performance; and
- Relevant experience, training and demonstrated skills in each area that s/he will be managing or supervising.
An on-site Program Manager must not provide clinical oversight to case management staff unless they meet the supervision requirements.
Experience with developmentally, physically, and emotionally challenged adolescents.
Demonstrated/Documented skill in developing, implementing and evaluating Individualized Behavior Management Plans/Individualized Service and Treatment Plans/Positive Behavior Support Plans.
Demonstrated/Documented ability at managing staff and fiscal resources (i.e.: grocery shopping and activity funds).
Must be able to pass a DSHS/DCFS background check.
Supervisory abilities that promote effective staff performance.
