The Desktop Support Technician 2 is an entry level position. In this role you will provide responsive support for computer users and perform repairs as needed of computer equipment, peripherals, and software. Technician will install, move and make changes to computer systems and provide 1st level response to assist users in troubleshooting common technical issues. This position will require significant travel to respond to needs in multiple locations in the assigned area in Illinois.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide 1st level support of PC workstations, laptops, and associated peripherals. Provide 2nd level support for other technical staff as required.
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, and other technical issues following established policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Travel to CFS locations to provide on-site PC and network support, maintenance, upgrades, and training
- Troubleshoot local area and wide-area networking issues.
- Manage and troubleshoot telecommunications systems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum requirements include a two-year degree in an Information Technology or related technical program. Experience in a Windows PC and network environment including cabling, switches, firewalls, servers, and virtual private networks is required. Experience providing telephone support is necessary.
