Essential Job Functions: Performs unskilled/skilled manual tasks involved in the maintenance, of walkways, medians, parks, lawns ditches, and gutters. Pick up litter; operates a trailer and Zero-Turn mower, mows grass with push lawn mower, may spray herbicides; uses gas powered trimmer and edges; trims shrubs and brush; maintains ditches with a shovel; loads and unloads heavy and bulky objects and materials from trucks. Cleans and properly maintains tools; bags leaves; fills out vehicle maintenance reports; replenishes supplies; maintains effective working conditions of necessary tools and equipment. Position will be part of the crew that maintains thoroughfares, boulevards, easements, streets, and right-of-ways.

Works inside and outside; is exposed to extreme cold and heat, constant noise, dust and dirt. Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; may work weekends if needed.
Knowledge: Knowledge of manual tasks involved in lawn maintenance and custodial duties; knowledge in the operation of a motor vehicle; knowledge of safety precautions needed to operate lawn equipment and hand tools.
Skills/Abilities: Must have ability to interact effectively with the public and other employees; must be able to safely operate push mowers, Zero-Turn mowers, gas powered trimmers, and hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, pruning shears, and wrenches; must be able to drive trucks, vans or cars; must be able to read, write and make decisions.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sees and hears; frequently carries p to 56-70 lbs., drags up to 56-70 lbs., reaches, stands, stoops, squats, twists body, cleans drives vehicle, kneels, and walks; infrequently bends, crawls, sorts, sits, writes by hand.
Education/Experience: Must possess a high school diploma or high school equivalency. Lawn maintenance experience preferred.

Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Other state valid Driver's License with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license.
