The Accountant position is responsible for processing, reviewing, and distributing monthly and quarterly financial statements. This position is an integrated position that will work in both property accounting and corporate accounting. The Accountant will work closely with other team members to answer questions, develop annual budgets, review ledgers, create reports, and manage cash flow along with assisting with the audit process.
Responsibilities
- Processing, reviewing and distributing monthly and quarterly financial statements for an assigned portfolio
- Managing cash flow for assigned portfolio and informing appropriate parties on any cash needs
- Collaborating with Managers in development of annual budgets
- Preparing and updating reports
- Funding and analyzing various escrow accounts
- Calculating and processing owner distributions
- Ensuring mortgages are paid monthly
- Assisting auditors with year-end requests for information
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Managing cash position and recording cash transactions
- Initiating wire transfers
- Managing a mix of Corporate and Property entities
- Setting up New Bank Accounts
- Acting as a software Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Calculating, recording and remitting Interest on various loans
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- Two years general accounting experience preferred
- Real estate accounting experience preferred
- OneSite accounting experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Excel preferred
