We are actively seeking a Human Resources Business Partner for our client, a major pharmaceutical and nutritional products manufacturing company, located in Myerstown, PA for an ongoing hourly contract.

Hours: 7 am to 4 pm, M-F

Duration: 01/18/2022 to 07/17/2023

Pay: Up to $31.70/hr-Based on level of experience

Job Type: Hourly Consultant

Purpose:

Human Resources Business Partner for identified clients group. Provides local leadership of HR activities, maintains positive employee relations, supports career development, ensures compliance with applicable laws and client policies, and partners with local leaders to support Consumer Health and Site strategies. Primary contact for local Contingent Labor Program.

Responsibilities/Key Tasks:

  • Acts as HR Business Partner for identified clients groups in Myerstown including employee relations and investigations, performance management, successions planning, management/training and development, compensation, EEO, benefits, LOAs, job descriptions, career ladder promotions, recruiting and hiring; anticipate business needs and provide realistic solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and coordination of Human Resources activities in a manner supportive of building a culture of trust.
  • Ensure the implementation and application of agreed upon client HR directives, policies, processes, systems and programs throughout the local Myerstown, Consumer Health and HR Operations organizations and strives for best practices in the standardization, harmonization and alignment of local HR activities, but always with the business requirements in mind.
  • Consult in close collaboration with Sr HR Manager on issues surrounding Law/litigation on ensuring compliance and adherence to applicable employment laws and client policies.
  • Support Sr HR Manager in executing organizational changes and restructuring, and providing appropriate solutions from the HR perspective.
  • Advise and influence workforce plans for client groups; partner with recruiting personnel and hiring managers to provide guidance and influence key staffing decisions.
  • Manage local Contingent Labor Program in collaboration with the 3rd Party Managed Service Provider and Light Industrial Sole Source Provider, providing oversight on postings, hiring and onboarding, performance and attendance management, incident reporting, work restrictions, ending of assignments, compensation reviews, bonus recognitions, continuous improvements, Job Descriptions and Occup Demands, summer hires and adherence to client policies. Provide training to new CL supervisors on policies and procedures.
  • Lead project management efforts and rollouts for HR and strategic site initiatives by collaborating with local leaders in the areas of talent management, workforce development and other strategic projects to drive development, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Initiate employee status changes in SAP and with HR Ops (direct reports, org units, cost centers, WSRs, change in working hours, etc.) to ensure data is accurate.
  • Site Champion for client’s Inclusion and Diversity initiatives. Partner with and support local BRGs.
  • Lead HR policies and procedures sessions for new hires biweekly during New Hire Orientation, as well as collaborate with Recruitment, Contingent Labor Program Coordinator and Training Team to onboard new hires. Meet with new client hires and process I-9 information.
  • Responsible for various administrative tasks including maintaining HR records (confidential correspondence, internal investigations, submissions to Electronic Personnel File, storage and maintenance of terminated employee files in accordance with record retention policies), collecting and tracking local HR KPIs/Metrics and analyzing trends, sending side-wide internal communications, submitting annual United Way payroll deductions, providing various monthly reports to site representatives.
  • Provide project and administrative support to Sr HR Manager (various reports and analytics, organizational charts, STAs/LTAs, Concur reconciliations, office supplies).
  • Backup support for local HR Team during absences.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Key Working Relationships:

  • Sr HR Manager provides oversight and general direction, but incumbent works independently.
  • Extensive contact with plant staff, and HR colleagues within client including the Contingent Labor Program’s Managed Service Provider and local suppliers.
  • Support Sr HR Manager and HRBP; responsible for Supply Chain Management client groups.
  • Site Leadership Team as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, telephone and written correspondence skills are required between incumbent and management at local and corporate levels for the purpose of relaying matters from/to Human Resources department.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business or HR preferred, with 7 years of relevant HR experience, or Master’s Degree/MBA with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of HR processes, programs, policies and systems and ability to communicate same to employees and management.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and change, as well as global and local complexities.
  • Experience in handling projects and corresponding change management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to provide positive and corrective feedback to others and deal with employee relations issues at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Position requires high degree of accuracy in relaying and maintaining HR information.
  • Ability to handle heavy workload and adjust priorities is required.
  • An overall understanding of plant operations and organization of departments, knowledge of general plant and group policies, procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is preferred.
  • Must have strong personal computer skills.
  • HR systems experience is required, SAP experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently
