Job Title: Sr. Payroll Analyst
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Job description:
This position is responsible for independently managing the Canada activities associated with the separations, record of employment and overpayment process including the overall management of handling the calculations and communications for all employee receivables (overpayments) and managing the receipts and recordings with Accounting for these overpayments. The incumbent is detail oriented and takes a proactive approach to ensure delivery of quality customer service and analyzes data to identify and implement continuous process improvement opportunities. Canada payroll experience is required.
We are looking for someone with Canada payroll background focusing in the areas below:
• Overpayment background
o Taxes
o Repayment
• Employment insurance information (experience submitting ROEs)
• Severance/termination process for Canada
• Knowledge of Canada payroll, overpayment, separations
• Strong Excel skills, computer skills and organizational skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience in SAP
What does a typical day look like for someone in this role?
• Reviewing possible terminations to enter (Regular review of Employee Data Form submissions and processing into SAP)
• Answer employee or HRBP emails and tickets via Service Now ticketing system
• Process overpayment letters and repayments (cheque, payroll deductions, wires, etc.)
• Process pay adjustments
• SAP system testing
• Calculating repayment amounts, which include gross vs. net pay and any source deductions
• Provide support to HRBPs regarding separations, overpayments and employment insures (ROE) questions
• Working closely with the Payroll Expert, Data Management Team, and Canadian HROP Advisor
