Position Summary:
The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for providing HR leadership and support of a multi-functional, multi-product line manufacturing facility. This includes the coordination and implementation of systems, processes, policies and programs for recruitment and selection, onboarding, coaching as well as training and development for both the hourly and salaried workforce. This role will partner closely with the Vice President and General Manager (VP and GM) for the business as well as the Plant Manager and full leadership team in developing and implementing strategic initiatives around engaging the employee workforce and creating high performing teams. The HR Manager will lead the government contractor compliance requirements on the talent side in partnership with the VP and GM, establishing strong relationships in the community to strengthen our presence and our robust and diverse talent pool.
The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director Human Resources with a dotted-line to the VP and GM. This position is of key importance and visibility within the Company. This position is 30 hours/week with a flexible schedule approach and located in Red Wing, MN as well as some flexibility for working remotely. Travel requirements are minimal. Human Resources support is also provided through the regional and global HR structure.

- Leads the talent side of government contractor compliance in partnership with the VP and GM – cultivating a robust and diverse talent pipeline and overall relationships in the community.
- Creates excitement within the facility with a keen ability to drive strong employee engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Operates as a trusted leader for the site, coaches both employees and managers on all employee relations, helps establish a culture of problem solvers
- Fosters an environment of appreciation within the facility, developing ways to recognize employees and celebrate wins.
- Leads and promotes safety awareness with other key members of the plant team. Promotes accident prevention and employee involvement in regards to a safe work environment. Ensures employees have an understanding of the safety expectations of the organization.
- Leverages continuous improvement tools to drive continued operational improvements and ensures engagement of the entire manufacturing team through strong communication and clear direction.
- Drives proactive workforce planning for future and current staffing needs. Will lead all hiring, onboarding and retention activities with the support of corporate team.
- Provides support with compensation and benefits questions and delivery for the site.

Job Requirements:
Experience:
- 7-10 years of HR Leadership experience preferably as an HR Manager at a manufacturing facility. Knows what “good looks like” in HR from having worked in a company/companies with best practice approaches.
- Successful experience with high performance work teams in a non-union facility required.
- Experience working in and knowledge of the broader Minneapolis area and talent market highly desired.

- Track record of driving employee engagement; identification of organizational opportunities and gaps, determining solutions, and implementing them

Education and Certification Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal travel required - up to 10% of the time.
