Your Challenge
We are seeking an Architect II to join our team in Washington, DC or Richmond, VA.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of design alternatives using a variety of media, including hand drawing, computer visualization, and physical models. Work in coordination with and oversight of the Principal Design Architect
  • Lead the development of presentation documents and make design presentations to Clients.
  • Prepare construction documents in coordination with multi-discipline project team of architects and engineers.
  • Coordinate project requirements and development of construction documents with sub-consultants.
  • Meet with product vendors to review specific products to be incorporated into the projects.
  • Perform code reviews and meet independently with local code officials to review and determine specific local code requirements and project compliance.
  • Perform bid phase and construction phase tasks including site visits, review of shop drawings, responding to requests for information, and issuing clarifications.

The Skills and Knowledge You Bring

  • Degree in architecture required from an Accredited University. Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • Must have 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Must have portfolio documenting a penchant for design excellence with the ability to develop into a Project Designer.
  • Must have demonstrated ability for hand sketching, as well as ability to use computer software for design.
  • Must have detailed knowledge of all phases of architectural and engineering practice.
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD & Revit.
  • Must be proficient with Sketchup, Photoshop, 3D Studio, Rhino, V-Ray, and other imaging and rendering software.
  • Must be proficient with building physical models of conceptual designs as well as final building models.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to other office and project locations.
