What role you will play in our team
- An Automation Technician is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of instrumentation and automation systems for Oil and Gas operations
- Automation Technician will have on call responsibilities and work in a team environment
What you will do
- Troubleshoot all field and Station Instrumentation
- Troubleshoot Control and Electrical systems. (RTUs, transmitters, control wiring)
- Troubleshoot control networks for Well Pads & Tank Battery. ( HART, ModBus, Ethernet I/P, Network Switches, Fiber optics, Cellular)
- Works Safely around instrumentation and electrical systems
- Work 5 days a week Monday thru Friday with times being on call (including weekends)
About you
- 5 years of experience as an IC&E Technician, Automation Technician or an Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation, Controls or Electrical Systems
- Basic understanding of the Process of Oil Field Delivery Systems from Well Pad to Tank Battery to Central Delivery
- PLC knowledge; including ladder logic (Modicon and Allen Bradley a plus)
- Experience with Rosemount 107 and 800 series RTU’s
- Experience with transmitters and Hart protocol a plus
- Knowledge of control valves and positioners
- Knowledge of control loops
- Ability to plan daily work activities in accordance with established Company and Regulatory procedures
- Ability to operate hand tools or other equipment to accomplish assigned tasks
- Able to use Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent safe work ethic
- Must be willing and able to attend/complete required training courses
- Must be willing and able to work in small team environments
- Must be willing and able to work in various locations, both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
- Must have safe driving skills
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Solid Troubleshooting/Communication skills
- Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) effectively

Pre-Employment Testing Guidance
This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires pre-employment testing. After applying you will receive a pop up giving you access to the assessment. You may take the assessment at that time or utilize the instructions below to access the assessment at a time convenient for you. Note that the assessment must be completed by the deadline in order for you to be considered for the O&M position for which you have applied.
IMPORTANT
The O&M test has been revised. Effective December 1, 2021 ALL candidates must complete the revised assessment. Even if you have tested within the last 365 days (passed or failed), if you tested before December 1, 2021, you must complete the revised assessment to be considered for this O&M opportunity. Failure to complete the assessment by the deadline will result in your disqualification from consideration for this position. The assessment is the same for all O&M requisitions. If you have completed the assessment after December 1, 2021, your assessment results will be mapped to this requisition when you try to access the test. Test passed candidates will be screened by the hiring team and a subset invited for interview. Note that a satisfactory result on the assessment does not guarantee an interview.
