Corps Navigator

SUMMARY 

The Corps Navigator coordinates the daily case workflow and activities in support of  policies, goals, and objectives for the Cesar Chavez Environmental Corps (CCEC). The  Corps Navigator position is an essential component of a "client-centered" work-learn  

program, such as the CCEC. This position will carry out a wide range of activities and play  a critical role in helping guide, support, and motivate individuals. To be effective guides,  coaches, and mentors, CCEC Corps Navigators must employ a wide range of skills and  tools, all of which must be supported by administrative practices and policies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES includes, but not limited to the following.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.  

  • Provide integrated case management and supportive services to Corpsmembers.
  • Conduct initial intake assessments with Corpsmembers to establish goals and services,  to create individualized and comprehensive development plans for each  Corpsmember.  
  • Responsible for collaborating with Crew Supervisors in the facilitation of  Corpsmember plans, implementation of interventions, data-collection, and progress monitoring.  
  • Identify, locate and connect Corpsmembers with partnering community agencies and  other resources if there is a need for more intensive and appropriate services.
  • Train supervisors and monitor supervisor documentation and data-collection practices  for consistency and accuracy.  
  • Work with supervisors to identify and implement appropriate strategies aimed at  improving work performance for Corpsmembers.  
  • Design and monitor behavior intervention plans, under leader’s direction.
  • Follow up with Crew Supervisors daily regarding Corpsmember progress toward goals.
  • Partner with Crew Supervisors and other staff to update Corpsmember information in  AERIES student information system.
  • Organize and schedule case management meetings with supervisors to create or  update Corpsmember plans, and to discuss performance evaluations.
  • Conduct trainings or refresher courses for staff and or Corpsmembers, such as: o Crisis prevention and intervention
  • Solution focused brief counseling
  • Peer Mediation training

  • None. 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).  
  • Tolerance for challenging situations and the ability to exercise sound judgement  under pressure. 
  • Conflict mediation, and dealing with individuals who have adjustment issues with  program expectations. 
  • Must be able to pass our vehicle insurance qualification to drive any FIELD vehicles.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to counseling, psychology, social work or similar.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

  • Must have valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance. 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be able to travel as needed/required.  

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, reports, and etc.
  • Ability to respond to  common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, and other personnel.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and  occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this  job include close vision.
