Schedule: 8:30am-5:00pm working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
Job Summary:
Contributes to patient care by assisting with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to pre-visit planning, vital signs, performing blood draws, maintaining the environment of care, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, and review of discharge instructions. Assists nurses and physicians with Mohs procedures and related dermatology services. Manages supply inventory, and/or assisting providers and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to enhance the patient care experience.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
One year of recent relevant direct patient care experience required. Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or Surgical technologist experience strongly preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Surgical Technologist, EMT or paramedic program is required. In lieu of program completion for the above programs, currently possess and are in good standing with at least one of the following credentials: a.) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) b.) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) c.) Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABROE) d.) CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or completion of military corpsman training OR two years of relevant direct patient care experience will be accepted.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Good interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize, concentrate and pay close attention to details. Knowledge of medical terminology, sterile technique, and surgical instruments preferred. Demonstrates a high level of collaboration with peers in making decisions related to surgical patient care.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification is preferred for those who have completed the CNA, MA, ST, or EMT programs.
