Description
The Georgia World Congress Center is currently seeking an Off Duty Police Officer to join our team. The Off Duty officers will be utilized to direct the flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic during GWCCA and Mercedes Benz Stadium events. Officers will be assigned a traffic post to facilitate the ingress and egress of vehicular and pedestrian traffic during events. Officers may also be utilized to manage crowd control during emergency, exigent, or any general circumstance that would warrant police action or intervention. Additionally, officers may be posted in various locations around the campus, to include Centennial Olympic Park, for the purpose of providing general police services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic
- Ensure that traffic flows safely in and around their assigned area, intersection, and campus
- Monitor and regulate illegal parking
- Responsible for impounding vehicles that are illegally parked or abandoned
- Conduct investigations of criminal activities and taking appropriate action, to include citation or arrest
- Respond to reported and witnessed incidents at the extra job location and will be responsible for the completion and submission of required incident reports, by the end of their tour of duty. The officer will conduct a thorough investigation and preserve and collect evidence relating to the incident
- Provide general police services to the public
- Perform other police duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned by the on duty Public Safety Supervisor

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Officer must be currently employed and in “Good Standing” with employer.
- Officer must have jurisdiction in this geographical area.
- Must have agency approval to work extra job at GWCCA.
- Officers must possess a current P.O.S.T. Certification and must be in “Good Standing” with P.O.S.T.
