Primary Duties
The Quality Control Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, in conjunction with the Quality Supervisor leads the testing and certification lab.
Lead Quality culture at site and ensure all site Quality processes are understood and followed.
Develop the QC team and ensure the QC resources are trained and in line with production needs.
Manage QC and partner with the other Managers for final controls to ensure products are released according to procedure and on time.
Form and lead multi-function teams to resolve customer issues in a timely effective way, while taking learning to improve overall product quality.
Track and report continuous improvement in internal rejection rates and customer complaints
Lead efforts by partnering with the technical group to effectively rework out of spec material and reduce the overall scrap rate.
Drive change through the organization by identifying root cause of COPQ and helping correct.
Champion activities to improve Quality system so site certifications are maintained, reached, and customer requirements are met.
Actively search for continuous improvements and work closely with site management team to improve site performance in term of yield and reject reduction.
Evaluate the product Quality and production performance with statistical tools.
Propose and coordinate actions with R&D to improve product capability.
Troubleshoot quality problems, support production to address issues with timely corrective actions.
Manage the unsaleable stock, organize timely decision with R&D support.
Coordinate and prepare site for Customer audits.
Lead Supplier Complaint Management
Organize Quality training for the site.
Serve as a key team member for new product introduction, scale-up, and new raw material acquisition, and product transfers from or to other sites.
Positively participate in Quality projects to improve and develop the quality performance.
Act as an internal auditor for the site
Foster a safe laboratory and manufacturing process for Quality with MOC
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemical or chemical Engineering (or technical discipline)
6 years of experience in Quality and/or laboratory
4 years in leadership role and the ability to lead multi-functional teams to corrective action.
4 years in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge on the Quality standards (ISO 9001, 14001, and IATF) and lean tools
Understands MOC process.
Able to communicate with customers to get the best outcome when resolving quality complaints.
Team-focused with good communication skills, ability to enthuse others, and drive demanding projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Chemical or adhesive manufacturing experience
Chemical mixing or extruding experience
CQE and or CQM certification
