POSITION: Habitat America seeks a strong, professional full-time Accountant.
Position Title: Accountant
HOURS: 40 hours per week- FULLTIME

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: A four-year bachelor's degree in accounting is desired. However a minimum of an associate's degree in accounting is required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years accounting or bookkeeping experience desired
- Excel proficiency is a must
- STRONG data entry proficiency
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Yardi software experience a plus
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a must!
- Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:
- Enter journal entries into the accounting software
- Accruals/Deferrals/Prepaids
- Ensure that reversing entries occur
- Conduct a monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
- Conduct periodic reconciliations of mortgage accounts to ensure their accuracy
- Issue financial statements for Controller review
- Assist with assembly of information for owners, investors and regulating entities
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Assist the Controller with special projects
- Special projects, as necessary.
