ABOUT THE ROLE
Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Welder/Maitenance to support our plant operations in Accokeek, Maryland. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining, inspecting, repairing, moveing, and/or installing plant machinery and equipment in accordance with instructions, equipment manuals, etc. May perform maintenance on plant buildings as well. Assures compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment such as crushers, conveyor belts, pulleys, pumps, screens and screen bearings by following the manufacturer’s recommended service intervals and internal equipment reliability experience
- Repair plant equipment and machinery by heating them with their welding tools.
- Inspect materials or structures requiring welding and monitor processes while staying aware of overheating levels, so nothing goes wrong
- Inspection of condition and operation of plant equipment and perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
- Move and install plants in accordance with engineering plans and specification; provide guidance to less experienced mechanics.
- Disassembles and repairs production equipment by replacing worn or broken parts, including bearings, rollers, motors, controls, etc.
- Performs maintenance on building and other related work as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years exepreince working in plant or industrial environment.
Proficient in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems
Licenses Required: Certitfied Welder (TIG welding, Resistance welding, MIG welding, CW,CW,CWE or CWRT)
Capabale of reading blueprints and drawings
Knowledge of hot work permit systems protocol
OSHA certified
Take and read measurements.
Ability to follow specifications and instructions for maximum efficiency.
Ability to weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
Repair machinery.
Ability to Plan layouts and procedures
Detail oriented. Welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers perform precision work, often with straight edges. ...
Manual dexterity. Welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers must have a steady hand to hold a torch in place
Spatial-orientation skills

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
