Qualification Requirements
Minimum two years in human resources with a focus on generalist responsibilities, preferably in healthcare.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources preferred.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws.
Working experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS systems.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
Strong verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Excellent data entry skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Understands and is committed to the hospice philosophy.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Provides support to supervisors addressing performance management concerns; assists with the writing, tracking and delivery of employee coaching and disciplinary actions.
Assigns performance evaluations to supervisors and tracks completion in the HRIS system.
Responds to employee questions and/or concerns in a timely manner. Researches and resolves issues and follows-up as appropriate with employee and/or supervisor.
Manages family medical leave requests and other leaves of absences.
Facilitates the worker’s compensation process for all work injuries.
Maintains the HRIS system by accurately entering new employee information as well as updates to employee information into the electronic record. Runs reports as needed.
Processes terminations which includes the termination of pay, PTO, and benefits; ensures COBRA compliance for departing employees.
Assists with the administration of employee benefits including new hire meetings, open enrollment, and other qualifying events.
Is trained to process payroll when needed.
Assists with annual audits as required.
Ensures adherence to all compliance requirements such as up-to-date clinician licensure, vaccination records, BCI fingerprinting, auto insurance and any other requirements per Joint Commission, CMS or any other governing entities.
Conducts exit interviews, satisfaction groups, and new hire meetings as needed.
Provides support to the recruitment function of the department as needed. This includes but is not limited to interviewing, orientation preparation and new hire set-up.
Assists in the planning and execution of other HR initiatives including but not limited to staff recognition programs, strategic plan initiatives, wellness initiatives, and training and development.
Ensures compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
Responsible for learning and utilizing technology made available by the agency to increase efficiency, communication and performance of duties.
Attends staff meetings and completes all mandatory training.
