The purpose or function of the NIGHT SHIFT Manufacturing Lab Technician is to perform lab analysis for quality control of finished product, production processes, incoming raw materials and color matching. To communicate with the Lead Lab Technician, QA technicians, Plant Manager, and manufacturing team to effectively interpret lab results in disposition of product, processes and raw material. To collaborate with Calender operator to ensure production of high-quality products meeting the i2M standard and to support execution of plant-wide initiatives as needed. Lab Technicians are responsible for supporting existing products by compounding, preparing and testing product samples as directed, and writing reports and communicating results.
Starting rates $18.00-$20.00/hour (based on experience)
OPTION FOR PERFORMANCE PAY RAISE AFTER 60 DAYS
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Finished product and in-process product analysis
- Operate spectrophotometer, analyze results, and provide recommendations based on findings
- Execute instructions from plant manager and production manager as needed
- Color standard match of Calendared product
- Raw material analysis and certification review •
- Data entry / quarantine disposition
- Equipment calibrations
- Design and prepare test samples for internal testing
- Design and prepare test samples for customers
- Operate lab equipment
- Coordinate external testing as directed
- Write Lab Test Reports
- Prepare samples for shipment

Qualifications:

- Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
- Experience in science or technical field
- Strong knowledge of materials, physical properties, and scientific methodology
- Capable of learning appropriate test procedures and methods
- Excellent attendance and employment history
- Must have the ability to work with limited supervision and direction
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
i2M operates 7-days per week 24 hours a day. We rely on local talent and promote from within. Technicians may work any day of the week, including weekends. Shifts are 12 hours per day 6 PM -6 AM. Technicians have the ability to work overtime. Changes in business volume and production requirements can cause the plant to change work schedule.
